Point of View

“A lack of skill is no big deal, what really counts is what you feel…”

A good friend once told me: “Music saved my life. And someday music is gonna save the world.” I couldn’t help but laugh, because I thought it was naive. I knew music was the most important thing in my life, yet I’ve still considered arts as some sort of luxury, that comes after eating, fucking and feeling secure.
As I got around as a travelling musician, sharing my songs with many different people in different communities, I realized how wrong I was. I began to see the potential of it. Music as a universal language, as a door opener to spiritual experience, as soul food for humanity. Music can bring us together. No matter who we are, where we come from, what we do and how we perceive the truth. There’s just that certain something from deep within that let’s you know: “This shit is real.”
As I’m writing this, most of my work is illegal in the eyes of the government. But the power is still there. People still love music! Making sure people remember is my responsibility as a “Heartist” in these dreadful times. Let’s get the music started.
Because someday, music is gonna save the world…
